| | i miss the good old days when me and my friends would have tons of fun just taking a bunch of pictures.
it's funny how i've amassed a litter of cameras.
the little blue one which you get free when you sign up for a bank account. i had to use actual film in this one. i remember chasing after my brother, trying to pull his pants down to take blackmail pictures of him. i did get some but my dad got really mad when he got them developed. haha.
the huge red one that looked like a toy. people were actually surprised to find out that it took real pictures. this too used film. my lola gave it to me because i asked for it as pasalubong when she went to the states. i expected a more mature looking one but really had lots of fun with it.
the pokemon one which had borders. i was completely addicted to pokemon back in gradeschool. memorizing the pokerap. having most of the vhs tapes (yes, vhs. haha.). collecting anything that had pokemon on it. including the camera. i had my first "barkada" then. we took pictures near the bookstore. posing as a group then one by one. haha.
the golden olympus one which actually belonged to my lola. it still used film but a fancier variety (advantix). i loved how the lens appeared when you slid the cover away. i was supposed to apply for a position in the school paper during high school as a photographer but chickened out at the last minute. i remember taking pictures of our outreach. i remember taking pictures at my ate's despedida party. at one point i broke this camera. i never told my lola that i did.
the pen-shaped digital one which took crappy pictures. i bought it at toys r' us and eventually returned it after a few days. i got really excited about it because it was my first digital camera. it doubled as a webcam. actually got some decent pictures from it. extremely entertaining. i took pictures of snow on it but it kept getting erased. haha.
the chunky kodak digital one that i got as a present one christmas/birthday. i felt so extremely proud that i owned one. i was probably the only one in my batch that had one at the time. it made me feel all grown up. i don't remember much about the pictures i took with it though. i broke this one at one point, too.
the really sleek mp3/video camera/camera one which i got another christmas/birthday. it really wasn't the one i was going for but it was the only one they had in stock. it was without a doubt the coolest thing i owned at the time. i remember listening to maroon 5 (songs about jane) and john mayer (room for squares) over and over again. the problem was that it took crappy pictures. the flash was over the top and the pictures were pixelated. my dad never let me forget that i should've gone for the other camera that had more megapixels.
and finally, the bulky but loaded with megapixels one which just broke down all of a sudden. another christmas/birthday gift that i was forced into (glad that i was.). it went with me to college. took a snapshot of my first college friends in my college surroundings. it was also there to take pictures of the friends i didn't go to college with. i even shot a few memorable videos with it. i had it with me during the happiest christmas of all. so many happy moments captured on a memory stick.
my life seems to evolve with the cameras i have. my personality matched that of my little friend encased in plastic/metal. i guess my life begun to crumble when my latest camera did. or at least when i stopped taking pictures. christmas/my birthday is just around the corner so i guess it's time for some changes. who am i going to be next?
i guess photography is a big part of me. dare i pursue it? or is this another crazy scheme because i saw that incredibly inspiring sony cybershot ad?
